Derby D230 Tube Silicone is a one-component (acetic curing) sealing and filling material with a wide range of uses. It provides strong adhesion to most non-porous surfaces, including general building materials.
Features
- Remains permanently elastic after curing.
- Uses the acetoxy curing system.
- Provides excellent adhesion to non-porous surfaces.
- Does not crack, does not yellow, and is resistant to aging.
- Can be applied in all seasons.
- Emits a typical acid odor during curing.
Application Areas
Used in:
- Joints of general building elements
- Door and window gaps for insulation and filling
- Glass installation and assembly
- Joints between materials such as metal, glass, porcelain, steel, etc.
- Bathroom and kitchen applications
- Plumbing works
- Insulation of electrical materials, sockets, and switches
Application
During application, the temperature should be between +5 °C and +40 °C. Consider the mobility of the silicone when determining joint width. The minimum joint size should be 5×5 mm. For wider joints, the depth should be half the width. A joint filler rod can be used to adjust the depth. For proper adhesion, smooth the silicone with a spatula within 5 minutes after application. Uncured silicone can be cleaned using a silicone cleaning thinner.
Shelf Life
18 months in unopened original packaging, stored under appropriate conditions at room temperature.
Warning
- Not recommended for porous surfaces like marble, natural stone, or concrete.
- Should not be used on sensitive metals such as copper, brass, lead, or on mirrors.
- Not paintable.
- Not suitable for aquarium use.
- May yellow under direct sunlight.
- Do not use in fully enclosed areas as curing requires moisture.
